What a summer this has been for Staged Interior! Productive, fun & rewarding! June was the month for the Staged Homes & the IAHSP (International Association of Home Staging Professionals) Symposium in Chicago. We had a great time and learned a lot as we attended breakout sessions, round table discussions and cornered other ASP's for information on their successful businesses. The highlight for Staged Interior was when Trish Kim was among those nominated by their peers for the 2007 Barb Schwarz Staging Excellence Award, and then was chosen by Barb Schwarz as one of the four finalists. It was a great honor to be included in this awesome group of staging professionals. Trish was the only East Coast ASP Master candidate, and we believe this is just the beginning of greater recognition of the impact of ASP home staging in our area. Of course just being with Barb Schwarz, the creator of the home staging industry, and experiencing her enthusiasm for home staging as an integral part of home sales were all part of the great time we had while learning and building new relationships.

On a personal note we were very impressed by the city of Chicago and would welcome another visit there to see more and experience the many activities available there. Our summer is also including a much-needed vacation in Hawaii first on Oahu for a family reunion and then on Kauai as a result of a very satisfied design client who gifted us with a stay in his guest house there. I'm actually writing this as I sit on the porch of the guest house surrounded by palm trees, blue skies and gentle breezes. It's been awesome to be here and rest, but we'll be back in a few days ready to meet with you and get your houses and listings staged and sold. Aloha and mahalo for your business and support. We look forward to a very productive fall!

Before and After Pictures of Staged Home
This very attractive and spacious townhome in Leesburg was an exciting project for Staged Interior. The owners were so busy with their three children, work and getting ready to move to another state that they really needed help getting their house prepared for the market. Kristen Roberts of Long and Foster had worked with Staged Interior on a similar house on the same street with very favorable results, which was featured in our April newsletter. So she called on us again to help this family de-clutter, pack and stage.

There were several phases to this project. First our packing and moving teams put in a 12-hour day getting the house organized, down-sized and ready for cleaning, painting to Trish's specifications and for some minor repairs. A week later, the staging team went in with furniture, accessories and creative genius to totally transform this house into a very marketable product that sold in 3 weeks.

We were so glad that we were able to help this family have a smoother, easier transition into their next home. We wish them much success. As always, it is a great experience working with Kristen. Here's what she had to say about this latest project with Staged Interior: "We are getting quite a reputation in this neighborhood as the team to go with for a quick sale."

This vacant condominium located In the Landmark Alexandria area had been on the market for more than 2 months when Rani Covington at RE/MAX Allegiance called Trish Kim at Staged Interior for help in staging this property. Some painting to Trish's specifications was accomplished first, and then with very minimal furniture and accessories Staged Interior completed the transformation that helped sell this home in three weeks. Since the owners had already moved and taken on another mortgage payment they were very excited about the swift turn-around after staging.

"I'm sold on staging! Thanks so much for a wonderful job," said Rani Covington after the condo went under contract. We are sold on staging too, Rani, especially when the properties we stage are sold in record time!!

One of our most loyal Realtors, with whom we are currently partnering, is Beverly Tull with RE/MAX Allegiance. Beverly wisely stages all her listings, of which there are many and, as a result, she is a very successful Realtor! One of our latest projects was a condominium in Alexandria. This seller was building another home and needed to sell quickly to meet the scheduled completion of the new construction. Staged Interior had great furniture and accessories already in the home with which to work. Creative rearrangement and enhancement of some spaces that had been left without color and definition brought this staging project to a success. According to Beverly, this home sold for $10,000 more than other comparable properties in the same area. The icing on this cake was that it sold in two weeks! Thanks, Beverly, for another success story. We look forward to many more, as we continue to work together as a team to get your listings sold quickly and with maximized equity for your clients.

We are looking forward to working with you so that your miracle stories can be featured in our next newsletters. Until next time have a great rest of Summer!
